Itinerary
The village of Poggio alla Croce, located in the town of Greve in Chianti, is an optimal place for hiking and trekking. These trails offer breathtaking views, clear waters, chestnut trees, oaks and Tuscan cypresses.
A sequence of rounded peaks of moderate height, but of great strategic importance that have seen Etruscans and Romans passing through several routes such as the ancient one, coming from Volterra, and directed towards Fiesole: the roman Cassia Adrianea, a major artery that connected Rome with Florence. Taking these "old ways" does not mean only retracing traces highlights of the Florentine culture, but also discovering natural monuments, churches, abbeys and castles.
The proposed routes are recommended by the Italian Alpine Club with the relative signs (vertical and horizontal) of the routes.
